Joining the IPC

The IntelligentPad Consortium is the organization that promotes the standardization and widespread acceptance of IntelligentPad. Please join us! Role of the IntelligentPad Consortium We believe that the time has come for IntelligentPad to be actively promoted and disseminated. It is a common platform that transcends operating system and interface differences, and by widespread dissemination we can demonstrate its power as an integrated media system. We invite everyone - whether predominantly a computer developer or user, within or outside Japan - to join us in this effort. Please note that the IPC's organization and management procedures are governed by its Constitution, whose provisions we ask participants to observe. Membership categories There are various different categories of membership, bringing different rights and responsibilities, as follows: Corporate member A Access to information via Web site or normal mail Participation in standardization and research activities as a committee member Voting and decision-making rights activity plans and budget decisions selection of Steering Committee members, General Secretary, auditor establishment of new committees Education opportunities participation in IPC planning workshops and seminars, at no cost Members in the Corporate Member B and Individual Member categories only have the first of the above rights (access to IPC information). Neither Supporting Corporate Members nor Honorary Individual Members have any special rights. If you wish to apply IntelligentPad for commercial use, you must take up Corporate Member A status. Membership fees Admission Annual fee Corporate Member 50,000 yen 1 share or more (50,000 yen per share) Individual Member 10,000 yen 1 share or more (10,000 yen per share) Honorary Individual Member -------- -------- Annual fee scale The number of "shares" payable to become eligible for the Corporate Member A category depends on the member company's sales figures. We ask members to declare their appropriate level each year on the basis of their most recent figures.
